Biography

Eric Proces got started in theater in his first year of high school. Quickly and thoroughly hooked, he did everything he could to be more involved in theater. His first job was as a stagehand at his high school theater: Pickard Auditorium in Neenah, WI. A modified (proscenium) thrust with 1600+ seats, a balcony, a single-purchase counterweight fly system, and more, Pickard Auditorium was a perfect place to begin to learn the ins and outs of theater.

Once Eric graduated, he continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying Theatre & Drama as well as Computer Science. At UW-Madison, Eric worked many times as an electrician, Assistant Master Electrician, and Master Electrician, sometimes for credit and more often for fun. He took classes in lighting design, electrics, drafting, and lighting software, among others. He was also employed at the Wisconsin Union Theater as a stagehand, as well as being involved in other local theater.

Eric graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre & Drama with Honors in the Major as well as a Certificate in Computer Science. He has completed thesis work on Streaming ACN (a.k.a. DMX Streaming Protocol), is planning to write a book on Architecture for Control Networks, and hopes to either work as an electrician with the goal of Automated Lighting Programmer, or work with control protocols and hardware development (or both).

Recently, Eric has been focusing on his art, taking continuing education classes at Madison College in Jewelry/Art Metals. Additionally, he is looking into commercial electrician training programs in hopes of becoming a Journeyman Electrician.
